We’re ready to power the experience economy: Ticknovate becomes Expian

Ticknovate has today become Expian, which our Managing Director Yiannis Maglaras has called a ‘comprehensive rebrand’ that ‘cements long-term growth plans.’ He says the brand now accurately “reflects how the platform can simplify complex booking requirements and make it easy for customers and operators alike to manage rich experiences.”

The rebrand includes a new logo, and company website, which together signify a significant step forward in the company’s plans to take admission ticketing solutions to the next level. Incorporating AI, plus other emerging technologies, Expian is well-placed to support ferry operators, events organisers and leisure brands to expand their offering, effectively manage pricing and yield, whilst also improving overall customer experience.

Why ‘Expian’?

We hired Berridge & Co1. to design the company’s new brand identity, cementing its ambitions for growth. Its aim was to create a new name, logo and website that represented our unique experience-focused booking platform. A move from ‘Tick’ to ‘Exp’ in the brand name is reflective of the shift happening right across the hospitality and leisure industries, whereby booking a trip goes beyond just ticket-buying.

As an innovative technology, revolutionising the way consumers book leisure attractions, events and journeys, Expian now has a brand that is demonstrative of how it can meet the experience-centric demands of the modern consumer.

Yiannis Maglaras, Managing Director at Expian, explains: “Today, consumers expect more from their leisure time, whether it is enriching their experiences with added extras, accessing exclusive photo opportunities for social media, or simply having the opportunity to enjoy their trips, their way. This growing trend for experience-led travel and personalisation is changing the future of admission, event, and ferry ticketing. Operators need the capability to expand their services and partner with third parties to provide customers with a greater choice and create more revenue generating streams."

“Ferry travel, days out and trips are meant to be enjoyable, and that experience should start from the point of booking. We have created a system that sells more than tickets. It has the flexibility to offer additional services today but is also scalable to grow as operators broaden the experiences they offer.”

Helping your customers to spend more

The booking software was born to support the UK’s largest Sightseeing tour company, City Cruises, which needed a system that would entice its four million customers to spend more. Identifying opportunities to cross-sell and upsell services and manage a complex inventory – including ticketing, transportation, live events and more – the team developed a ticketing solution to facilitate the wants and needs of both the operator and its customers. The result? Selling rich, multi-faceted experiences that will boost your bottom line.

The growing experience economy

The experience economy is continuing to grow with consumers valuing memories more than materials and the location-based entertainment market is predicted to reach US$22.2 billion by the end of the decade2 . The expected compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of roughly 26% between 2023 and 2030 is driven by consumer trends for inspirational personalised trips that combine added extras.

Leisure operators face greater pressure to curate the perfect experiences featuring complementary experiences and premium elements such as: a bottle of Champagne, a luxury meal or behind-the-scenes access. To facilitate purchasing and selling rich, multi-faceted experiences, our travel and technology experts developed a first-of-its-kind booking platform that is intuitive, easy-to-use, and easy to manage.
